My mother also had an album of instrumental Hawaiian music that I loved.
One of the many New Age / Native American CD's which got lost over time.
The first Sacred Spirit album is still on my wantlist (I know it's not hard to get, like 80% of that list):
My father:
Te complete Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler discography (Especially the Brothers In Arms album) - great music though
And some Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Notting Hillbillies, Deep Purple and a few country compilations.
My mother:
Elly en Rikkert (famous for, but not limited to, a lot of dutch christian music for children)
Simon & Garfunkel (I'm afraid I've heard their 'Best Of' CD a bit too much, I slowly started to dislike Simon & Garfunkel)
Neil Diamond
And a lot of cheap New Age compilations (notably the complete Raindance series, random 'celtic' stuff, native american compilations and such things)
One of the many songs from those Raindance compilations is listed below.
I guess my fascination for traditional and folk music started here.
pet shop boys
ben webster
zouk machine
too much diversity to name it all... as it should :)
One of my mother's various artists albums had this "Chapel Of Love" on it.
I can't even name how many times I heard the one album from these sausages. There was at least one vacation where they had it on a loop in the car.
