Got to love deciphering incoherent sentences of someone trying to call everyone idiots.
this is getting way too heated hahaha. go outside, pet a dog. :+)
We´ve lost nothing!
I wish we would have when I read shit like that stated here - and especially such fools that think they´re something better by listening or reading something that gives them the feeling they are somehow cultural superior to others ---> which is bollocks...
For calling me "low" on the assumption that I can't read music, I'd like to start off by saying fuck you. I adore opera, and play classical music of all sorts almost as much as anything else. Leave your judgements to yourself you elitist asshole.
As for the rest it's all very subjective. And the fact that people who had no chance of going into the opera house sang it just proves my exact point. Give that another spin in your head for a second.
Culture is culture, technology is culture, culture is human. Welcome to the 21st century.
you use "tech" WORD only to talk about market and audience. Totally wrong. I was deeper.....what we lost with human feeling and body. Before they did not use mic. They were closed, feeling more....You wrong again about everyday music: it was.....folk was singing it, even with no chance to go inside the opera house......culture is culture, culture is human, no tech. With tech, today we only hear a lot of idiots with a poor voice who look like better than the best tenor voice, only thanks to the tech. If, before, they had rock, it was the same with opera! Last mistake: cd, let to know? No, with no cd we know operas because we read music we are not so low as you are
okay, grandpa

We've lost nothing. Imagine how many Operas you'd (or the everyday man would, rather) even know about without CDs or the Internet. When it comes to actual styles in music available through new technology, it's all a matter of demand, so what is "replaced" is lost for reasons beyond technology. Opera was never everyday music, and even though few were marketed as such, it was never music for "the working man". If anything technology have let us keep tons of classical music in a field that has evolved on an almost miraculous level on all fronts.
