Are we talking oldies, from the 60's? Or new ones? They were all psychedelic back then , thanks to the the prism of chemistry ;-). I really love the new stuff , BJM, New Candys, Black Angels, anything on my youtube channel playlist "2014" This is gonna be good ww.
Great call on Red Krayola, I had sort of let them slide as just another of those 60’s bands that wouldn't hold up
as so trippy today. Great stuff!
Butthole Surfers—(e.p., + 1st 4 albums)
Beatles--White Album, Revolver
Hendrix –Brushing his teeth (ok, just about anything)
Mercury Rev- Yerself as Steam, Boces
Flaming Lips—In a Priest Driven Ambulance , Embryonic, Telepathic Surgery--forget the album just listen to “Hell’s Angels Cracker Factory,” it’s a true wigged out mess.
Yoko Ono Plastic Ono band—
Coil –Horse Rotorvator, Love’s Secret Domain
Swans –Soundtracks for the Blind and there last 3 albums. Sure they’re a mind fuck, but that’s half the fun.
Spacemen 3—Perfect Prescription, Playing with Fire, Taking Drugs to Make
Music to Take Drugs to
The Out crowd—Then I saw the Holy city
Loop –Heavens End, Fade Out, A Gilded Eternity
Jane’s Addiction—Nothing’s Shocking
Hair and Skin Trading Co.—Psychedelische Musique
Pink Floyd—Ummaguma, Meddle, Live at Pompeii
The Tear Garden—Tired Eyes Slowly Burning
Legendary Pink Dots—pick an album
Zoviet France—Before they became stricktly ambient
Amon Düül—Phallus Dei, Yeti.
Can—1st 4 albums
... oh and I forgot about Acid mothers temple. Seriously, everything they released is basically a psychedelic experience.
uhm there are so many..
Merriweather post pavilion - Animal Collective
Free gold! - Indian Jewelry
My bloody underground - Brian Jonestown Massacre
Strobo trip - Flaming lips
Each one teach each one - Oneida
these are probably my favorites globally.
In terms of pure trippy stuff though, i'd say anything from bands like Mugstar, Subarachnoid Space, Superminerals or even Earthless would be worth mentioning.
Vintage psychedelia : "Parable of arab land" by Red Crayola is probably the trippiest stuff to come out in the '60s.
