About Abigail's Ghost
A contemporary rock band comprised of five people committed to a well-tempered musical aesthetic deeply rooted in groove, polyrhythms, lush harmonies, haunting ambience, and thinking man's lyrics. Though the band hails from the Houma/New Orleans area and a few of the members have musical backgrounds in Cajun French and New Orleans style jamming, their sound has most often been compared to the grunge bands of the 90's and so-called "Krautrock" of the European music scene circa the 1980's. Founding members Joshua Theriot (lead vocals/lead guitars) and Kenneth Wilson (bass/backing vocals) attended the same high school and had played together in various bands throughout. Both left Louisiana in the fall of 2003 to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Soon after their first semester had begun, Kenneth Wilson decided that music college was not in the cards for him and moved back to Louisiana to study biology. While Theriot stayed behind to finish school, the two corresponded via internet, jointly writing music and lyrics half a country away. Upon realizing they had written drum and keyboard parts for phantom band members, Wilson and Theriot found a need to look for more musicians to translate the instrumentation into a live context. They contacted long-time friend and progressive keyboard guru Brett Guillory. Guillory immediately climbed aboard. After going through several drummers, Theriot's roommate at Berklee and high school friend John Patrick was asked if he'd be interested in the position. Although primarily used to playing metal/funk projects, Patrick decided to join the band and brought along his songwriting teammate and brilliant rhythm guitarist, Randy LeBoeuf. Abigail's Ghost was born. Selling Insincerity was a product of Wilson and Theriot's long distance correspondence. Although taking almost two years to compose music and gather resources, the album was recorded in a week at Axistudio in New Orleans, mixed both at Axistudio and in Boston and was released on March 23, 2007 on the band's own label Aesperus Music. -bio by Paul Weymouth For more info regarding Abigail's Ghost you can visit the following links: http://www.abigailsghost.com http://www.myspace.com/abigailsghost http://www.facebook.com/pages/Abigails-Ghost/100631374070 http://www.twitter.com/abigailsghost
