About Adam Nordén
Adam Nordén - Composer In just a few years Adam Nordén has established himself as the most sought-after young composer in Sweden. He has enjoyed a diverse career working in all kinds of genres and media, composing music for feature films and television series as well as commercials and TV station identification packages. Born in Stockholm in 1971 Adam began his musical career while still in his teens, playing keyboards in various local jazz and pop groups. He got his start as a composer in 1994 with a station ID package for Swedish TV channel Kanal 5 and soon garnered similar work from national 24 hour news channel SVT 24 and Slovenia's Kanal A. Since 2002, Adams station IDs can be heard on SVT1 & TV 3 as well. In addition he also wrote music for a number of commercials, including ads for companies like IKEA, SAS (Scandinavian Airlines Systems), Swedish telecom giant Telia and the national railroad company SJ. His latest commercial assignment is the high profile pan-european commercial ´Marathon´ for Libero, where he was asked to produce a cover of the song ´Climb every mountain´from the musical ´Sound of music´. In recent years Adam has concentrated on composing scores for feature films and television series. In 2004 he landed his first international assignments - ´Defender´ and ´Direct Action´- both featuring action hero Dolph Lundgren. His credits include the children's movie "A Witch in Our Family", thriller comedy "Elusive Tracks" and no less than eight films in the hugely popular thriller series "Beck", six of which were made for television and two for cinema release. He recently finished the score for Josef Fares critically acclaimed movie ´Zozo´ - Swedens submission the the Oscar 2006. The score features the London Philharmonia orchestra. Adam is currently busy composing the musical score for 13 films based on Henning Mankells popular character ´Wallander´. The first film in the series opened in theaters january 2005. His additional television credits include the drama series "Stig Petrés hemlighet" and "Ramona", both produced by the national broadcasting corporation SVT. Adam was recently invited to join the European Film Academy, an association of Europes filmmakers. In 2001 Adam earned a nomination at the World Soundtrack Awards for his work on "Beck - Revenge" in the category "Discovery of the year - young film composer". He is the recipient of a scholarship from SKAP (The Swedish Society of Popular Music Composers) for "extraordinarily meritorious work as a composer." Adam is based in Stockholm at Riviera Music Sound & Post, Swedens leading music and sound design studio, where he is also a partner.
