About Archigram
Archigram is a duo composed of Julien & Nicolas, two parisian natives who discovered Detroit techno in the early 90's... However, their own tastes weren't always the same: while Nicolas learnt playing the guitar by listening to his Rockn'roll heroes, Julien toured in parisian clubs as a DJ... After they met, they started producing music, developing a style which is quite unique & a bit hard to describe: it's a sort of dark & rock house music where angry guitars are mixed with cold keyboards, but it has a clubby feeling... The began their career on Crydamoure with a first 12" released in 2001, "Mad Joe"/"In Flight". The 1st track is hypnotic and captivating whereas the second one is more funky in its "Raw Mix" version. One year later, "Carnaval" is released and we already feel that their sound is darker. This feeling is confirmed by the very dark "Doggystyle", released in 2003, which is a cover of "I Wanna Be Your Dog" from the Iggy Pop and The Stooges... While their 12" have a pretty success in the UK, we had no news from the Crydamoure label, Archigram came back on Kitsune. In 2004, they released "Padre", which is a track contributing to "Kitsune Midnight" project. Opening new points of view to house music. "Padre" has got this obstinating harpsichord, which could be from a party at the time of Louis XIV, the classical binary house structure is replaced by a more interesting ternary one, which breaks with the rules that were already established. They are finishing their first album, featuring some artists from different horizons, classical musicians, rockers, DJs & 'unindentified performing musicians'.
