About BLOOD
BLOOD started out in 2002 as an Osaka based visual kei/gothic band composed of musicians with a producer's aim, pursuing their own music and world view. The band was originally formed by Kiwamu (guitarist, song writer, band leader) and Kaede (bassist). Their member line-up previously consisted of 3 periods. It was assumed that at the end of BLOOD's final tour in 2009 under the name "La Fin de la Journee", that BLOOD was officially over. But as announced by Kiwamu on January 14th 2011, a 4th period was added. The new members were Hayato (vocals), Azami (Bass), & Dora (Drums). They were later joined by Kazuha (guitarist). BLOOD's "La Fin de la Journee" tour featured their most active and most popular period with their vocalist Fu-ki, who joined the band in 2004. It was said that Fu-ki left the band to pursue a metal band, but recently Kiwamu has stated on his Facebook that both Fu-ki and Kaede (who did not appear during the final tour) have retired from the music scene. Kiwamu not only handles song writing, programming, and guitar, but the artwork as well. Kaede contributed by playing bass/synth-bass, writing lyrics and also contributed in the visual aspects of the band. When Fu-ki joined the band he wrote the majority of the lyrics and often worked with Kiwamu to write the music as well. With the participation of guest musicians and the absence of a fixed form in the band, they created songs that boldly destroyed a musical "frame". As their band name, the word BLOOD has multiple meanings; "origin" and "pureblood", and from each of the members' various musical roots, BLOOD aimed for a type of pure music that could only be done by BLOOD. It also has the meaning "violent emotion", and the band pursues the expression of people's strong emotions. Kiwamu also has two music labels, Darkest Labyrinth and Starwave Records, and was the guitarist of the band GPKISM. (BLOOD was previously under Kiwamu's first label Cure which was later renamed Darkest Labyrinth, a label specifically created for gothic and industrial bands. From the flyer Kiwamu posted on his Facebook, it seems that BLOOD is now under his Starwave Records label, which is specifically for visual kei bands.) Fu-ki currently owns a bar in Osaka called MiDiAN and sings in a Motley Crue cover band. Ex-members include: * Dai - vocals * Takeshi - vocals * Taichi - guitar, programming * Fu-ki - vocals * Kaede - bass * Ryo - keyboard * Hayato - vocals Guest members include: * Yuu - guitar (of Suicide Ali) * Juya - guitar (of D'Air) * Noa - guitar (of Brand 0) * Emily Rose - vocals (of Hallows End) * Exo-Chika - vocals (of Aural Vampire) *During the final tour of their 3rd period, GPK of GPKISM filled in as the keyboardist. Kaede and Ryo (who was their keyboardist for a short period of time during their 3rd period) did not attend the final tour. After over a year and a half of the fourth period, in mid 2012, Kiwamu announced that he would be focusing on his labels instead of BLOOD. At the same time, Hayato (Mr. Satan [SaTaN/Frenzy -Mr. Satan Solo Project-] announced that he would be leaving the band. BLOOD has not done any more live shows or had any releases since summer 2012. Dora is currently focusing on photography, Azami has continued work with ミサルカ & Kazuha has joined THE SOUND BEE HD. For more information, go to their official website, MySpace page or Wikipedia page .
