Meet people through music
CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER from Greifswald, Germany started to play music by the age of 14. Due to a lack of musical surrounding, he had to find out most things by himself. Christian recalls a variety of music styles he listened to as a child and teenager that were highly influential to his own development as a musician. Among these were Indie Rock, Jazz, Classical music and especially piano compositions. The different influences become evident in Christian's side project a city is a tree which features singer/songwriter compositions and piano pieces. With regards to his own taste for electronic dance music, Christian Löffler mentions a preference for Detroit Techno, a statement that can easily be understood when listening to the tracks he releases under his real name CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER. What both, Techno from Detroit and Christian Löffler's music have in common, is the overwhelming deepness and emotionality of the tracks. Other of Christian's influences include Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service, Four Tet, Album Leaf, Thom Yorke and Ms John Soda. This catalogue reflects his widespread musical taste and knowledge of music that become visible in his productions. Being asked to describe his own music, Christian states that he tries to combine melancholy with euphoria. "All my music is connected by a gloomy spirit, which is minted by a warm sincerity. I try to merge all kinds of different acoustic colours to obtain this feeling in my music." Today, the young producer who also studies art, names contemporary painting that is inspired by Romanticism the main impetus that provides him with new ideas for his own art, may it be music or painting. Christian's impressive first release "Heights" on Ki Records in March 2009 gained him huge respect and makes us eagerly await more of his brilliant music. (by Liliom / ki-records)
