About Cold Mailman

Cold Mailman can be considered an epitome of the qualities that have been linked to the development of the "nordic sound" we've seen the last few years. With five out of six members hailing from the city of Bodø way above the polar circle, but based in the buzzing music industry of Oslo (claimed to be one of the most influential music cities in the world by the Washington Post. Cold Mailman's intricate, intimate, dreamy and extremely well-produced indie pop has been getting attention from all over the globe lately. In 2013 they are releasing their third full-length album, Heavy Hearts, on Bodø-native Beyond Records for Norway. The album is definitely their strongest yet, and the band claims they've neared fulfilling their gargantuan sonic ambitions, recording, producing, mixing and mastering the album themselves. Doing everything yourself as an artist is not usually a good thing, but as their bassist Martin Bowitz is considered one of the most interesting up-and-coming Norwegian producers these days, sharing a studio with Emil Nikolaisen of Serena Maneesh (who also contributes on the album), doing everything themselves has granted them the time to focus on all the little details necessary to get as near perfection as possible.
