About Cune
cune is a Japanese pop/rock band formed by Ryouzo Kobayashi (Vocal & Guitar), Kouji Ikuma (Guitar), Taizo Nakamura (Bass), Kimito Ookita (Drums) in 1999. In 2001 they made their debut with the single "星をみてれば" (Hitoshi wo mitereba). The c/w song "SAMURAI DRIVE" was picked up by Hitomi, and was a smash hit in 2002. Soon after that, they released their major debut single "リフレイン" (Refrain) in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Also they got an unprecedented tie-up for TV series as the unknown band with the song "CLOVER", and released the 1st album "GREAT SPLASH". In 2003 they went on the 1st nationwide tour and released 3 singles "青空" (Aozora) "LION SEVENTEEN" "カノン" (Kanon) in a row. In 2004 they released "ナナイロスマイル" (Nanairo smile), and the self-produced mini-album "明日の風" (Asu no kaze). The best album "BEST 1999-2004" came out in 2005, but they announced that they stop their activity as cune right after their tour in 2006. After the brake up, they released the mini-album "EUPHORIA", and the live album "HORIZON". Now they have announced the reunion to perform in Tokyo and Osaka in July 2011.
