About Decades Of Despair

Decades of Despair is a five piece melodic death metal band that formed in Paris in 2006. They blend the warm sound of Gothenburg melodic death metal with the efficient rythms and breakdowns of deathcore. With heartbreaking melodic parts, brutal scrapping riffs and nasty striking breakdowns, the band delivers the best elements of these two genres, contributing to the richness and intensity of their sound. They released their EP 'Throes of the Wretched' in 2009 and released their debut full-length album 'Alive' in December 2012. "Decades of Despair's sound is much like The Black Dahlia Murder, but with powerful breakdowns. Everything on this EP is recorded how deathcore should sound, not too overproduced, and not too raw.
