About Digitaria
Hell is proud to present his latest recruits to International Deejay Gigolos. Digitaria is an electronic band coming from Belo Horizonte (Brazil), the third largest city of the country. They have already released on 'International DJ Gigolos CD 9' selected and compiled by DJ Hell and their fantastic 12" 'Teen Years' (Gigolo188) with a kicking remix by Zoo Brazil from London who have put out their own material on Get Physical. Even though the band is essentially electronic, Digitaria uses lots of live keyboards, vocals and many other elements in search of an unique sound with roots in electro, punk, techno, pop, ebm, etc... The band is: Daniela Caldellas (voice and keyboards), Fabiano Fonseca (voice, keyboards and drum pads), Nest (voice and guitars) and Daniel Albinati (voice, keyboards and effects). The band's live performance is full of intense moments, in a constant dialog between aggression, lust and emotion. It's like a sweet cut in the chest: You are not the same after that experience. The band have made gigs with DJs and live acts like DJ Hell, Fixmer/McCarthy, Supergrass, Gang of Four, Cardigans, The Hacker, Octave One, David Carretta, Ritchie Hawtin, Oliver Huntemann, Scan X and TBN, besides lots of Brazilian artists. In 2004 the band recorded and co-produced in their own studio some tracks of the new album of Arnaldo Baptista (the genius behind the band Os Mutantes - the greatest rock band of Brazil's history). The album called 'Let It Bed' was acclaimed with unanimity from the world's musical press. The band's first appearance was in 2001 with the 'Anti EP', brilliantly illustrated by the artist Eduardo Recife (who designed the cover of Grace Jones and DJ Hell's 'I've Seen that Face Before' single and DJ Hell's series 'My Definition of House Music parts 1 and 2' for Gigolo Records). In 2006 Digitaria released it's first full length album, 'Digitaria', on Gigolo Records (Europe) and Lado Z Records (Brazil). The album has 13 tracks - a incredible mix of electro, rock, pop and experimental music, and received lots of positive reviews from the Brazilian and European press. In June 2006 the band went to Europe for their first international tour, playing for two months in Germany, Austria and Spain. Nowadays Digitaria is working on a new single, remixes and a new album for 2007. more info: http://www.digitariamusic.com.br // http://www.gigolo-records.com
