About Divine Muzak
Divine Muzak is a darkwave duo formed by Julie and Dan. They crashed into each other in 2003 at a goth reunion in Bucharest, Romania. She was wearing a summer dress and he was wearing a chic noir chemise. That or the fact of him being well-known for his dark ambient projects, Divine Muzak being one of them, determined Julie to make a silly quest. "Will you let me sing with you, but without taking any vocal test?" And then laughed untrustingly. Dan said yes, though he was untrusting of her too. Released one year and a half later, "Dialogue" was the first trip they ever took together. Not as brother and sister, neither as lovers or best friends, but as each other's fantasy of rape. Julie had already managed to emphasize the divine in Divine Muzak's imagery, taking Dan's vision beyond the dark underground soundscapes and allowing him acces to her carnivorous mental pictures. The Arabian weeping dress and the upside down lipstick were their first surrealist catches. And there was much more to dig beyond the dark ambient, neofolk and darkwave orientation. Divine Muzak spent the last 3 years trying to reach its personal sound formula. And "Maison Skinny" does nothing more than embodying it. And nothing less than revealing the very first "hospital pop" apology of the human body, that was accomplished within the post-love pre-orgasm bizarre atmosphere of PUNCH RECORDS.
