About E.M.I.L.

E.M.I.L. is a punk-rock band from Bucharest, Romania established March 2000. The members are: Sorin Bădulescu (vocals), Barbu Niculae (bass), Gabi Georgescu (guitar), Andrei "Stoi" Stoianovici (guitar), Eugen "Piti" Imecs (drums). Their first EP, "Cocktail verde" was launched in 2002, with the songs "Superstea", "Pisica", "Supradoza de vise (feat. Butch)", "Ursu'", "Hus-Avi", "Copacii infloriti" and "Vara vara", with the single "Copacii Infloriti". However, they were scarcely promoted, the label dropped them and they remained underground. In 2004 they started becoming more and more popular, leading to the launch of "Rom, Fum si Vanilie" on November 19th, 2005, with the singles "Doi" (which was filmed a year or so before) and "Da Vrei". Although they announced "Dub Shot" as a single, and even filmed part of it, it was never released. In 2007 E.M.I.L. took a break from concerts, having but 3 concerts(Peninsula&stufstock fest, and opening act for NOFX). Rumors have it that they're going for a new album, but fans are skeptical. Bands that influence E.M.I.L. are Green Day and Sublime. Stoi is a Green Day fanatic, and received Billie Joe's guitar in 2005 from a concert in Budapest where he was called on stage. In 2009 The band will release a new album , named : Știu, ți se pare absurd.The Album contains 11 original tracks composed in-between 2007-2009 period. The boys mentioned that ... "I know, it seems *absurd * to you..." is a manifesto. Our alternative to the current commercial music in romanian show-biz. Our attitude against the natural and authentic mechanization of the thing called "society". Moreover, "I know, it seems *absurd * to you..." is a proof of devotion to the "scene", and also to a musical style that has changed our life. The new album will be realeased Saturday, 25 of July 2009 at Vama Veche (terrace Hand) and will probably be one of the best parties this summer.
