About Fandangle
Over the past few years, American-fronted Fandangle have exploded onto the UK punk scene. Their unparalleled energetic live performances and original - yet catchy - melodies have echoed throughout crowds around the UK and Europe. Known for their fun-loving and passionate attitude, Fandangle are the hardest working DIY punk band in the UK. They originally formed in 2000 in Camberley, England as young kids sharing their love for music, and worked their way up through relentless gigging and self-promotion, while creating music that seamlessly blended their various influences and backgrounds. Over the last 7 years, Fandangle have released seven EPs, each selling no less then 3000 copies, gaining them mass popularity and the attention of numerous UK Indie labels, including MoonSka Europe to whom Fandangle signed in 2004. The 'Take One For The Team' EP was released on this label shortly after. In 2005, over five days, the band sold in excess of 10,000 copies of their EP 'Back To Basics' by gatecrashing Reading Festival. Having attained representation Fandangle booked themselves the largest UK tour of the year and played over 96 shows straight. The first four months were headlining shows and in April 2005 they toured with American ska legends The Toasters. In June of that year, Fandangle were asked to support Sony/BMG artists Reel Big Fish, and the success of this collaboration lead to a second UK tour with them in early 2006. Later in the same year Fandangle managed to secure a support slot with Warner Brothers artists Less Than Jake. Having now completed numerous major national headlining tours and six other tours, as well as playing some major European festivals, and sharing the stage with bands such as Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Spunge, Sonic Boom Six, Adequate 7, King Prawn, Capdown, The Pietasters, Big D & The Kids Table, Allister and Zebrahead, Fandangle have accumulated a total of over 1,100 live shows. 2008 stands to lead them further into the spotlight with the release of the first official album featuring members of Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead and Green Day. The album, 'Fly Away' was recorded in Los Angeles, California during January 2007, with Aaron Barrett (of Reel Big Fish) singing on the first single. In September 2007, Fandangle were hand-picked by Less Than Jake to be main support for them as part of 6 consecutive shows at the Astoria in London, earning a 4/5 review from Kerrang for the show. In 2008 Fandangle have been taking their extensive touring schedule to Europe, with tours looking up for Japan, Canada, and Australia in 2009. The band has developed its fan base through constant touring and their hard work ethic, which will never change - the band continues to work diligently with underground booking agents such as Crucial Talent in the UK and multiple booking agents across Europe. Their debut full-length album, 'Fly Away' is out now on Party House Records. Having already attracted heavy media attention and numerous positive reviews, with Mike Davies playing multiple tracks on BBC Radio 1's Punk Show, it's not one to be missed. Sadly they broke early in 2009 and split in two bands. Check for New Riot, most of the old band playing ska-punk!
