About Fashoda Crisis
Fashoda Crisis formed in Southend in early 2005 as a violent reaction to the haircut bands and scenesters cluttering up what would otherwise be a thriving music scene. Taking their name from a minor diplomatic incident in 19th century colonial North Africa, their lyrical style is highly abrasive and usually consciously disturbing, in the vein of bands like Shellac or Mclusky. Musically their sound is a combination of modern punk, hardcore and stoner rock, but with the songs structured and instruments arranged in a relatively poppy style.
