About Fluffy
There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Fluffy is an all-girl British punk rock band from London. Formed in 1994. Lineup: Amanda Rootes - Vocals/Guitar, Angie Adams - Drums, Bridget Jones - Guitar, Helen Storer - Bass. Musically they were often described as a "messy" Elastica. In fact, one member admitted during an interview that they would often listen to Elastica while cleaning their flat because the music was so "clean" to them. In 1996 Fluffy toured in Japan with the Sex Pistols. Sadly, this exposure was not enough to keep the band afloat and they broke up in 1997, when Storer and Rootes both moved to Los Angeles. All the members have continued their musical careers in other bands. Helen Storer moved to the US and toured with Jack Off Jill playing bass until that band broke up in 1999. She later joined with Thee Heavenly Music Association as vocalist/guitarist. Amanda Rootes has become the lead singer for the mildly successful Harlow. Bridget Jones & Angie Adams formed a new all-girl band called Darling. 2) Fluffy is an experimental alternative Christian group that released a small handful of albums in the bourgeoning Christian underground scene of the early 90's, headed up by Chris Colbert and Troy Daugherty. The sound could be reminiscent of Neutral Milk Hotel with a touch of A Sunny Day in Glasgow. The band dissolved after releasing three albums on Blonde Vinyl Records and Flying Tart Records. The two songwriters went on to form a shoegazing band Duraluxe, which is still active.
