Meet people through music
The Greatest Hits from Seattle have spent the past three years touring, recording, and pioneering the underground. This five-piece rock 'n' roll act delivers a sound and look that contains elements of everyone from T-Rex/David Bowie to the Ramones/Dead Boys to the Beach Boys/Beatles to the Sweet/Slade and have been compared to Hanoi Rocks, the Rolling Stones, and the New York Dolls. The band's 2005 demo was discovered by the Briefs frontman Steve E Nix, who proceeded to record three songs with them. Extensive touring followed, including a slot on New York City 's Radio Heartbeat Festival in 2007 and the Wild Weekend Power Pop Festival this year in Austin, where the band opened for UK punk legends The Boys! Other noteworthy bands the Greatest Hits have shared the stage with include the New York Dolls, Pointed Sticks, Faster Pussycat, the Briefs, the Casualties, Holy Ghost Revival, Chesterfield Kings, Supersuckers, and Black Haloes. Tthe band recently went back in the studio to record five more songs with Steve E Nix and Johnny Sangster (known for recording the Supersuckers, the Briefs, etc). Three of those tracks are on split EPs with the Tough Shits and the Luxury Sweets. And another session will soon take place to record the seven remaining tracks to complete full-length CD.
