About Ideamen

January 6th, 2014 Chicago based Alternative Rock band "Ideamen" are releasing a new album Tuesday, February 4th 2014 entitled "Schemata" on Rotten Records. This is the bands second full length release under the Los Angeles label and it comes after a 3 year period of touring, 2 years of recording, a summers worth of remixing an otherwise finished album and a 6 month label push back. The band refines their brand of Experimental Alt Metal meets Pop & Progressive Rock. Each song has its own identity with lead vocalist Dave Solar taking turns w/ keyboardist Tim Swanson as each songs' lead voice. The vocal approach on "Schemata" is nearly a complete 180 from the bands objective in their 2009 debut album "May You Live In Interesting Times" where most of the songs were entirely harmonized by 3 singers. While all 12 tracks have the bands signature "formula", there are some very experimental moments new to Ideamen musically. There are also more than a few songs seemingly crafted for radio. Two videos have been filmed and will be released in January 2014. The Schemata CD Release Show is Friday, January 31st at Beat Kitchen in Chicago's Roscoe Village Neighborhood.
