Meet people through music
In Trance 95 was an electronic duo from Athens, Greece. Both Alex Machairas and Nik Veliotis were experimenting with analog synthesizers from 1985 and after an accidental meet at 1988 they formed what would stay in history as the only purely electronic band that came from Greece in the 80s. Their first single "Desire To Desire/Brazilia" is still their most well known moment with both tracks reaching a cult status today. The duo split in 1992 and there was a 4 year period of random live gigs with a different line up till the final split in 1996. Attempted to reform as Itenef in 2006 and through this in 2010, the paths of the two crossed again. So the name itenef was dropped and IN TRANCE 95 got officially reformed with the original line up. They signed to Minimal Wave label for a compilation album that will be released at the end of the summer 2011, while there is going to be a new album in 2012. Already there was a sample from it, the track "Wave" that was released as a video in the beginning of 2011. Before nowadays and American label Minimal Wave, In Trance 95 had their music released through 3 different Greek indie labels: WIPEOUT recs, ELFISH and INDIVISIBLE. Those releases are hard to find today, almost all were on vinyl and they're an important part of the local electronic music scene. Their main discography is: 1988 Desire to Desire/Brazilia (7"wipeout) 1988 Desire to Desire (video directed by Roger Crook) 1989 21st Century European Temptation/Temptation 2 (7"wipeout) 1990 Code of Obsession (LP wipeout) 1991 Warm Nights Driving on Wet Streets (12"elfish) 1992 Energy-ia (track on comp.lp of elfish "Random Relations") 1992 The Lesser Water Snake (track on comp cd by elfish "Crush-tribute to JG Ballard") 2011 Cities Of Steel And Neon (LP Minimal Wave)
