Meet people through music
Kiscsillag is a rock band formed in 2005, in Hungary. Kiscsillag means "Little star", but it can be also used as a form of address. The name may also be a reminiscence to an early song - Kicsi csillag - of Kispál és a Borz. The original line-up had Bräutigam Gábor on drums, Leskovics Gábor on guitar, electric organ & vocals, Lovasi András on guitar & vocals, Ózdi Rezső on bass. They are founding members of rock band Kispál és Borz, except for Leskovics, frontman of Pál Utcai Fiúk, and long-time collaborator of Kispál és a Borz. Rátgéber László, a succesful basketball-trainer is their permanent guest star as a singer, showman and occasional lyricist. The band has a marked musical approach in a raw sound somewhere between beat and punk. Songs are characterized by the varied riffing of the two guitars, simple and fat bass, peculiar singing, and drums having plenty of go. Snappy lyrics are mostly written by Lovasi with contributions from Ózdi and Leskovics. Even though the frontman calls Kiscsillag a "freetime band", their first album entitled Greatest Hits vol. 01. (released in Autumn 2006) earned good reviews by critics, and was welcomed among others by the fans of early Kispál és a Borz. In early 2008, Bräutigam took a break for personal reasons, and now his duties are filled by Mihalik Ábel, who now seems to be the permanent drummer of the band. The band has released their second LP, entitled Örökre szívembe zártalak (I've closed you into my heart forever) in February of 2009. The new material has even more dirty rock sound, than their first album and most of the songs is sang by Lovasi. This time Lecsó had a lesser role in the making of the new album, because he is recording the new material for the Pál utcai Fiúk as well. Kiscsillag Official Website Kiscsillag on MySpace
