Lee, Seung-Hwan (이승환, born 1965.12.13) is a South-Korean based musician whose work encompasses various genres in Korean music industry. His notifiable works are mostly his ballads, which are known for melancholic melodies, his unique vocal style and spectacular live performances. So far he has released 9 studio albums, 3 live albums and 2 singles. He has established a record label-cum-entertainment firm "Dream Factory," where he currently remains as a chief executive. Lee Seung Hwan has debuted in 1989 with album "B.C 603" and instantly gained fame with his title single "기다린날도,지워질날도 (Days of Longing, Days to be Forgotten). His earlier works are laced with lighthearted melodic tunes and melancholic ballads. He is also well known as one of the Korea's best live performers due to variations on songs during performances and spectacular staging. Through his career, he has experimented with various genres such as funk, rock and ska. He has also collaborated with musicians such as 토이,윤상 in Dream Factory's 이소은's albums. He also shares close friendship with fellow musicians of the 90's such as 김동률,윤종신 and 이적 His last and latest album Hwantastic 9 shows his tendency to focus more on indie rock and ska, while his trademarked melodies still stand strong within his music.
