About La Crisi

Born in 2003 in Milano, Italy, La Crisi come to life as a strong need of expression of it's vocalist/songwriter Mayo. Former singer of SOTTOPRESSIONE (one of the most famous and best Italian band of the 90's - Vacation House Records), Mayo was just came back to Italy after 3 years spent making coffees in London, where he had written some songs, and immediately he started looking for somebody to form a new band. After his last show with Sottopressione in '1996, Mayo has been in a few bands like MURUROA and CLEFT (a band with members of BURNING DEFEAT, MUDHEAD, CONCRETE) as a guitar player but never again on vocals, also trying to play something different than hardcore. In London, anyway, something happened buying the cd version of Bad Brains "Rock for Light" , a record he already listened a million times, in a second hand record shop: as soon as H.R. start to scream "Banned In DC", "At The Movies", "PMA"...Mayo face the fact that if you really love hardcore, if hardcore it's not just a sound but is a way of life for you, you can't stop loving it, you can't get bored with it and...you got to play it! And you got to play it fast and furious like the old school teach! No metal, just pure hardcore rage! That's why, once in Italy again, he ask to his younger brother Dario (already in Fiftyardsmore - Riot Records) to join him for his new project. When a brother call a brother got to go! And he was automatically recruited on guitar. Who can fit better than Diste on bass? Nobody! Best buddies since the age of 8, Diste had already shared stages with Mayo with SOTTOPRESSIONE and played in many other bands like MAZE (Inaudito Records), G.H.C.P. (Vacation House Records) and, after Sottopressione final split, he had started his new band STILENE (www.stilene.com) that he's still running. He needed just a call from Mayo and, against any expectation, he was in! finding a drummer was a little bit longer and harder: the band did a couple of practices with Dario C. (as well from Sottopressione, now in DECREW), but he was too busy with his job and his other projects to join seriously, so they had to find someone else. Luckily the "notorious" Paolino, already drumming for several bands like MINNIE'S, WENDIGO and FOR I'M BLIND, showed interest in the project and got in too. The 28th of May 2003 LA CRISI played the first show with DECREW and WENDIGO at Dauntaun - Leoncavallo in Milan, soon after the first cd-demo of the band got released and sold-out 100 in just 3 shows, so they had to print it again two times before entering in the studio, a year after, to record "La Crisi" it's first full length cd out now on Hurry UP Recs. So far LA Crisi shared stages with bands like RAW POWER, DARKEST HOUR, DECREW, KAFKA, CUT THE SHIT, WOPTIME and many more.
