About Livvi Franc
Livvi Franc's music mirrors her ethnic background. Her music is a melange of music influences - pop, RnB, country, and soca. Her parents (Her English mother and Barbadian Father) exposed her to everything from Bob Marley to the Beatles, and on her own, she developed a love for artists such as Etta James, Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Lauryn Hill, The Cranberries, Alanis Morrisette and UB40. The young musician musical influences can be heard in her sound, which is an eclectic blend of retro pop meets modern-day pop complete with Livvi's quirky, soulful vocal styling. Livvi Franc's interest in the creative arts started from young. An accomplished visual arts student- she designs her own fabric- she began writing songs at age 10. "I did not really know what I was doing; I just had melodies and lyrics in my head, so I began jotting them down. By 14, I was recording myself singing (on my tape recorder) and sharing my songs with my family and friends," Livvi Franc adds, with a beauty pageant smile. By 15, her journey into the music industry began thanks to her manager, Kerrie Thomas, who began pairing her up with professional musicians. Franc spent her time performing and writing with other local artists. She even co-penned and released a song on radio in Barbados. Eventually, Franc linked up with two local producers, Classic Soul, who began working with Franc on her demo. By July 2006, Franc's demo was complete. By August 2006, her demo had caught the attention of international superstar producers. By April 2007, her demo had caught the attention of major records labels in the US. At this time, Franc also expanded her team to include a co-manager, Allison Hunte and a lawyer, Terri Baker. By June 2007, after performing for the Barry Weiss and his team at Jive Records, Jeff Fenster,Senior VP of A and R at Jive, offered Franc a deal. "I remember the day like is was yesterday," she sings with her eyes. Since her signing in November 2007, Franc has been busy working on her upcoming album with a host of international producers. From SRP to Stargate to Jr. Rotem to Future Cut, Franc has recorded enough songs to release four albums! "It took some time trying to capture my sound and style in an manner that would have the type of commercial appeal the label was looking for. But fortunately for me, spending the last several months in the studio has been awesome! I have been able to hone my style with the support of some pretty amazing musicians. I have learned so much about myself and this business throughout the process, too," she reflects as she crunches on a Bajanginger mint-her new mint of choice. With her recording process nearing the end, Livvi is now preparing herself for her upcoming single release, slated for September 2008. Remember this name ... LIVVI FRANC - the Underground Sunshine.
