Meet people through music
There are at least artists two using this name: 1) Longview are an indie rock band formed in 2002. Two members of the band met in Winchester, England, later moving to Manchester where the band gelled into it's first line-up: lead singer/guitarist Rob McVey, bassist Aidan Banks and drummer Matt Dabbs. Doug Morch joined as lead guitarist in 2003; and in 2005 German keyboard-player Ulrich Schnauss began contributing. Longview's debut album, Mercury, was released in July 2003 (and re-released in 2005). The blend of powerful rock ballads have made them famous in the indie community. They have released several singles (including 'Further' on two separate occasions). One of their most interesting and rare singles was a cover of Depeche Mode's 'Stripped' which was only available as a digital download or on limited edition vinyl. A second album has yet to emerge. To accommodate fan impatience (as for some it has been a number of years since their purchase of 'Mercury) the band began to upload new tracks onto their Myspace account. These were recorded in the studios at London Bridge, Seattle and at Rob's flat in Manchester. Song titles include 'Elysian Fields,' 'Why,' 'Signals,' 'Drive Faster,' Run off the Tracks,' and 'Happiness in Loneliness'. The new material suggests a continuation in the band's ability to produce divine melodic rock music with epic choruses and including influences from folk, rock, alternative and progressive rock. The new album, as yet untitled, should include the song 'Hollow'. 2) Longview is an American bluegrass group.
