Meet people through music
Marina Elali started on the stage at the age of 15. While child, she began dancing ballet at the age of three, then studied classical piano and participated in the choir of her school. At the age of 14, she decided to become an artist after watching a Madonna´s concert at TV. At her 15th birthday party she made her first presentation. "It was a surprise to all the guests. One of them was a manager who invited me to open a concert for a popular Brazilian singer called Fagner. After that, many other invitations came to me. I spent two years singing all around the brazilian northeast," she said. Marina added that when the dream of recording her first CD arose, she felt that she still needed a little more preparation. She then decided to go and study music at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, United States. There she had harmony, vocal technique, arrangement, composition, stage performance, piano, percussion, musical style research and studio recording technique classes. She also took part in a television program in Brazil, called "Fama". It is a reallity-show similiar to American Idol in which the public chooses the best from a group of pre-selected singers that auditioned for the show. She got the 4th place. First CD A total of 20 songs were recorded, so as to arrive at the 14 tracks of the CD that goes by the artist's name. Production is by Guto Graça Mello, Júnior Mendes and by Marina Elali herself, who accompanied each detail of the production of the CD. The mixing was by American sound engineer Dana Jon Chappelle, who has already worked with foreign celebrities like Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. The CD was mastered by Adam Ayam, at Gateway Mastering studio, in Portland, Maine, also in the United States. The pictures are by Manoel Guimarães and Nana Moraes. One Last Cry This song has just become #1 hit in all over Brazil after debuting on a brazilian soap opera´s soundtrack called "Paginas da Vida", the most viewed TV show of 2006 in Brazil.
