Menhir is a pagan/black metal band from Thüringen, Germany and was formed in 1995 by Heiko, Manuela and Fix. The band's name is a term from the Celtic meaning "long stone". Hence, the Celtic / Germanic ancestors of the band members are thematically their focus. Menhir's lyrics usually shows this influence since they dive into the linguistic world of the Germans using the ancient language harmonized with their songs. → The current line-up of the band is: • Heiko - Guitar, Vocals • Fix - Guitar, Vocals (Drums until "Buchonia") • Christian - Keyboards • Fritze - Bass • Erwin - Drums Some members of Menhir are also in Odroerir. Discography: - Barditus demo (1995) - Die ewigen Steine (1997) - Buchonia EP (1998) - Thuringia (1999) - Ziuwari (2001) - Hildebranslied (2007) More information can be found at their Official Website ♫ http://www.ziuwari.de. 2.) Around the corner of Queens Of The Stone Age and next to the village of Asterix live the three-piece that is Menhir. It's a well-picked name for a band that is often described to be 'as solid as a rock'. Adjectives like 'heavy, big-ass and overwhelming' are also often used. And it's no wonder, the three lads from Groningen are specialised in testing the ground work of houses and buildings alike, thanks to the use of two bass players and one drummer. Formed in 2012 they play a brutal mix of southern and stoner rock. http://www.menhirband.com/
