About Miłość
Miłość (which means 'Love' in Polish) was a jazz group from Poland. Their musical style is often referred to as 'yass'. Miłość was formed in 1988 in Trójmiasto by Tymon Tymański, a double-bass and guitar player from Gdańsk. In the beginning Tymański worked with Mikołaj Trzaska and Mazzoll, their music resembled free jazz and avangarde. After Mazzoll left in 1991 and Leszek Możdżer joined the group, their music came closer to traditional jazz, but still remained unorthodox and retained the experimental element. Miłość was eventually disbanded in 2002, after suicidal death of Jacek Olter. After that Tymon continued the musical style they developed in a new band - Tymański Yass Ensemble.
