About Morte Macabre
Morte Macabre is a dark progressive rock band formed by the members of two important swedish progressive bands from the 1990s, Landberk and Anekdoten. Morte Macabre released their only album, "Symphonic Holocaust", in October 1998. The album is comprised of covered themes from horror movies, like "Cannibal Holocaust", "City of the Living Dead" or "Rosemary's Baby". The music and atmosphere on the album are characterised by excessive use of mellotron and synthesizers, while the guitars and keyboards show the darkness, tension and anxiety included in the 8 tracks. Morte Macabre consists of: Nicklas Barker (Mellotron, fender rhodes, theremin, sampler, guitar, bass) from Anekdoten Peter Nordins (drums, percussion, Mellotron) from Anekdoten Stefan Dimle (bass, Mellotron, moog) from Landberk, former member of Paatos and owner of the Mellotronen record store in Stockholm, Sweden Reine Fiske (guitars, Mellotron, violin, Fender Rhodes piano) from Landberk, former member of Paatos and currently member of Dungen and has played several times with Bo Hansson. There are rumours that the band is in progress of recording a second album.
