Meet people through music
Moustache of Insanity is Nik and Bill. They play messy pop songs about the important things in life - cheese, mix tapes, freckles, ninjas, horror movies, love, Chuck Norris and sending postcards to strangers. Bill is on singing, electric guitar, ipod and moustache duties, while Nik sings and attempts to play the keyboard. They started out in Bill's living room in early 2008. After six months or so of "practising", writing and recording they decided it was time to leave the safety of North London and play some shows. Since then they've played all over the UK, as well as places further afield including Berlin, Copenhagen, the New York Popfest and the Cosy Den Festival in Stockholm. They released their first EP 'Knock Knock...Who's There?' in time for that very first gig and caught the ears of of Camila at WeePOP!, who released their self-titled mini-album in the summer of 2009. It sold out surprisingly fast, so the band recorded some more songs, self-releasing another EP called 'Postcards To Strangers' later that year (available as a free download on their website). After a quiet 2010 (in terms of releases anyway), Moustache of Insanity kicked off 2011 with a cassette EP on Fika Recordings and this summer will see the release of their first proper album, titled Album Of Death. It was recorded in a real studio with loads of buttons and blinking lights.
