About Ohm
There are at least three bands called Ohm, one from Stockholm, Sweden and another from South Africa and lastly Chris Poland's Ohm: from L.A california. Ohm: is a Chris Poland (a former member of Megadeth who has also worked with Lamb Of God) experimental jazz fusion project formed by Robertino Pagliari and himself. The band was formed in 2002 and has released 3 LPs and a live album up to date. It should be noted however, that ohm is incorrectly tagged on last.fm... the true title of Ohm: includes a colon, according to Chris Poland this is due to their constantly changing drummers. The most common line-up includes Kofi Baker on drums. The live set is often punctuated with a 5-10 minute drum solo during which the rest of the band leaves the stage. Ohm from Stockholm, Sweden Unknown to the outside world until now! The band OHM started playing music together ten years ago in a dark cellar of Stockholm Sweden. Since then they have kept their music in secret dark places all around Stockholm. Mostly in train tunnels and old underground spaces. OHM have never sent a tape to a record company, instead they carefully packed it and put it were no one can hear it. This strange behaviour ended a year ago when the band members discovered one of their old recordings on the roof of a forgotten subway train. OHM decided to save the recording from being eaten by the rats and launched a rescue operation. The recording was saved after a major operation. Then, one of the band members started a record company, and now the recording is mixed, fixed and ready to be released in 2006. * Jenny Berna - vocals, guitar * Jonas Esbjörn - drums * Bo Anders - bass Ohm from South Africa Ohm consists of lead singer Brendan Jury (formerly of Trans.Sky and Urban Creep), Sven McAlpine (Plain, The Original Evergreen), guitarist Andre Van Rensburg (Supernature), and Gaston Goliath (Interzone, Wendy Oldfield Band, The Original Evergreen and Urban Creep). Ohm is also goatrance act, definately worth of checking out http://www.discogs.com/artist/Ohm+(5) OHM (Vienna, Austria) OHM features Austrian's Jürgen Nussbaum & Chris Eibl from Molar Records in Germany. Jürgen, Chris and brother, Martin Nussbaum, are collectively known as members of the genre defining electronic group, UKO of Vienna's legendary Klein Records. Listening to music from this trio has been described by Soul Seduction as "walking on the moon to a Barry White soundtrack" featuring "Dubwise minimalist soundscapes that swoon in slow motion...Jazz meets Dub, the electronic meets the soulful, digital meets analogue." They have also been an integral part of the Vienna electronic community and have collaborated with Downbeat luminaries Quantic (Tru Thoughts Records), Tosca (G-Stone) and fellow label mates, the Sofa Surfers, as well as, Vienna Scientists' own Freedom Satellite and The Menheads. Ohm Ohm were formed near Dallas (Texas) in 1995 by multi-instrumentalists Forest Ward (mainly saxophone and percussions) and Doug Ferguson with the intention of playing progressive and psychedelic rock. With Ferguson committed to keyboards, Nathan Brown on bass and Chris Forrest on clarinet (but no guitar!), the group began recording complex jams of ethnic and electronic music.
