About Rachel Garlin
Rachel Garlin is a singer-songwriter whose character-filled songs tell the stories she has collected in her life as a teacher and traveling troubadour. Her four records feature songs noted for vivid, lyrical imagery and themes that are "fresh and often unexpectedly moving." (C. Gerst, East Bay Express) A Bay Area native, Rachel lived in New York while touring throughout the states and traveling as far as Sweden and Scotland with her music. Rachel performs at venues such as the Bitter End in New York and the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley where she recorded a live album several years ago. Her songs have aired on Click and Clack's Car Talk, Amy Goodman's Democracy Now!, and college and community radio stations throughout the country. After touring cross-country in a bio-diesel van, Rachel wrote a song called "Alternative Fuel" that was selected for the soundtrack of Fuel , an audience choice winner at the Sundance Film Festival.
