There are at least four bands called "Skogen". 1) Skogen is an atmospheric black metal band from the deep woods of southern Sweden. The band was brought to life in 2009, they have since released four full-length albums. Skogen's sound can be compared to bands along the lines of Drudkh, Winterfylleth, Wodensthrone and Fen. Releases: 2003 - Old Oak (Demo) 2005 - Wolfs Lair (Demo) 2005 - Frozen Winds (Demo) 2006 - Unholy Northern Storms (Demo) 2008 - United Ancient Hatred (Split) 3) Skogen is Greek Black Metal Band founded in 2009 Releases: 2010-Forbannet Inn Isolation's Stein 4) The fourth Skogen is something else entirely: the electro-acoustic big-band of Magnus Granberg. Their first album "Ist gefallen in den Schnee" was released in February 2012 on Another Timbre, and features Magnus Granberg himself (piano), Angharad Davies (violin), Anna Lindal (violin), Leo Svensson Sander (cello), John Eriksson (vibraphone & crotales), Erik Carlsson (selected percussion), Henrik Olsson (bowls & glasses), Peter Wästberg (objects, contact microphones & mixing board) and Toshimaru Nakamura (no-input mixing board).
