About Tele
There are at least two artists using this name: 1) Tele is a German rock/pop band from Freiburg, now based in Berlin. In the year 2000, Tele produced their debut album '1001 Verdacht', playing mostly typical indie guitar music. Four years later, in 2004, they released their second album 'Wovon sollen wir leben', containing German-language rock/pop songs. The band's third album, 'Wir brauchen nichts' was released in February 2007, produced by Patrik Majer, known for his work with Wir sind Helden, one of Germany's most popular rock bands. 2) "Famed for their white-hot live show, this quartet approach even the smallest shows with arena rock grandeur." A Canadian band with energy and grit besides the melodic flair and arrogant airs. Tele formed in their hometown of Winnipeg in 2003, around vocalist and guitarist Matt Worobec, keyboardist Zack Antel, and bassist Brendan Berg. Their first self-titled EP finds that unmistakable balance - creating pensive tones which vary from the wounded to the hopeful but always rife with emotion. The essence of the quartet lies in skirting the lines between artistic and mainstream values. They meld the ethereal atmospheres of Sigur Ros, the melodic rock power and swagger of Muse and the dark experimental ambience of Radiohead. Only months after forming duo Antel and Worobec stabilized the line up with the addition of bass player Berg. Tele emerged on the prairie music scene swiftly in 2003. The band has enjoyed promising acclaim from many music biz insiders while scenesters have begun directing themselves to the group's live shows - intrigued by their dramatic stage presence and innovative heart-pounding soundscapes. "Tele performs with precision, intensity and rigor. This young band is shaping the sound of what live music will become." - Kari D., Chart Magazine"Impressive, tight, intense. These guys rock! Great potential for radio play." Roxane Gagne, CJZZ 99.1 CoolFM
