Meet people through music
Listen carefully and you might just hear a distant rumbling. It could be the sound of a multi hair-coloured hipster looking girl, roller-skating through a Subspace Highway in your head, or it could be the sound of momentum building behind a young Bristol (UK) band as they generate much buzz and acclaim from blogs and radio stations alike. In either case it would be the sound of The Ramona Flowers in your head, but only one would bring you languorous and gorgeous electronic pop music. Pop culture aficionados will recognise the name from cult favourite comic book turned Edgar Wright film, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, and that the band has the same moniker isn't coincidental in the slightest. After meeting at university, Dave (keyboards), Wayne (bass) and Sam (guitar) brought in vocalist Steve and drummer Ed to add the final pieces to the puzzle and The Ramona Flowers have been working at it ever since - perfecting a sound that has seen them praised for their rawness but simultaneously their courage to experiment with a surprising number of styles which has led to the NME describing the band's textural sound as "a wholly different beast", and The Guardian to declare "hugeness may be imminent". The bands unique sound has not gone unnoticed by their peers either as the band were recently thrust into the spotlight when band of the moment BASTILLE asked them to support them on their massive 17 date UK headline tour and BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB asked them to support them on their 2014 European tour plus Alt- J, Hot Chip, Everything Everything and Ladytron have all given them the remix treatment having first heard their early demos. Ultimately though with The Ramona Flowers it's not about names or looks, just sound, and their mission to make the rest of the world go "wow".
