About The Sleaze
The re are several artists named Sleaze : 1) People don't get it. I don't get it sometimes. They say, "You ain't sleazy. You are a nice guy! Why do you call yourself Sleaze?!" Cuz that's my name! My name does represent me at this point and time. It represents our way of lives. It represents my experiences and my circumstances. It represents the current state of affairs in our country. On our planet. In our galaxy. It represents you as well. It represents the way we choose to interact with our peers. How we would rather throw shade than share love with our people. How we hate ourselves. It represents the mortgage crisis. It represents the Mega-Corparations that exploit everyday, hard-working Americans; robbing them of both their dignity and their wealth. How they sell "instant gratification" to all who will stoop low enough to grab it. all for profits unimaginable. It represents the desire we have as "consumers" to soak all the bullshit in and call it grand. "PRAISE THE LORD" "WORD TO ALLAH" "HAIL SMOOCHY". It represents priests that touch children in dark corners, so scared of themselves and a book to say THE HELL WIT THAT!!! I'M GETTING SUM OF THIS NUN PUSSY WE GOT AROUND HERE!! If your vow of celibacy requires you to molest choir boys then we all are lost. It represent that feelinng of lost. That vulnerability. It represents the way we look at ouIrselves in the mirror. Slightly ajar. We all rock stars but ain't nobody truly rockin'. Just posing in mirrors for Myspace and the like. They calling it swag nowadays. It used to be juice. Or flavor. Or whatever. It represents the bullshit of words or labels. It's nothing. It represents Hip Hop. It represents R&B. It represent sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. It represents our youth. The drones of lost, lonely, and unloved. Or loved by a parent thats more of an equal than a superior. *SIDEBAR* tough love ain't love either. More on that later...*SIDEBAR* It represents their dreams and aspirations. They aspire very low. We used to want to be doctors, lawyers, actors, firemen, police officers, etc. You know, people that actually made a difference in the community. Now we just wanna be dopeboys and fly chicks...til no one is dope or fly.It represents the twisted realities in which we accept as real. It represents the fakeness and true stupidity of the drug culture. And when I say drug, I don't mean weed! Weed did not make lil Suzie a hoe last night at the party, as the commercial likes to imply. Her ho ass made made her get nasty wit all them boys, because in reality she had been planning that night all last week. It represents the blindness of parents who thought that they were giving their kids a better life only to realize later that they had failed as parents. It represents the parents that disown their unwed daughters because she got knocked before they thought the time was right. Or because it was with a man that they did not approve. It represents us as a whole collectively...If you've ever cheated a friend or stole a stick of gum you are me. If you've ever lied to get out of work or spent your whole check on bullshit then you are me. If you've ever hit the snooze button 3 times then you my friend are me. If you've ever gotten in trouble with the law or sat in a cold cell by yourself then you my homie are me. If you have ever spoken a hateful word about someone that trusted you are me. Its all connected. We are all connected. Men if you've ever looked at your girlfriends friends with a lustful eye than you are me. Ladies if you've ever called a number out your mans phone looking to start sum drama than you are definitely me. This world is me. This galaxy is me. My experiences. My trials, my tribulations. My circumstances. It only represents the whole scope of the lens in which I see the world. The way i see you and I. The way we see each other. So don't ask me why my name is Sleaze. Ask how you are like me. Say, "Damn my name should be Sleaze too!" Say we are sleazy. Be proud of your sleaziness. Wear it like a badge of honor. A medallion for feats accomplished. You deserve it. You are vital. Without you there would be no me. It's you. You. 2) Sleaze was a French stoner-rock band from Paris. ( https://myspace.com/sleazeband/music/songs )
