About Underwater
There are four bands/artists/projects using the name underwater, or variations therein, but only the band below holds international copyrights to use of the name: Ethereal/trip-hop band 'underwater' released several EPs and LPs, including the hugely successful, 'RED.' single and their greatest artistic success, 'This Is Not A Film'. Founding members Jeremy Wilkins and Melissa Mileski own international recording/publishing rights and usage of the name 'underwater'. Other musicians, past and present, include George Lewis, Nikolas Ahlstam, Alec Irvin, Matthew Jeanes, Deborah Lutz, Daniel Rosen, Dan Dixon, and Denver Bon. In 1998, they recorded 'I Could Lose' with producer Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails). The band and producer got along very well, but unfortunately, the same could not be said of the band and their record label. So, after the band was released from it's contract, a remix single and new EP was released on Matt and Jeremy's budding sub:marine records. They are currently collaborating on new music, sending tracks back and forth across the country, but there is no official word regarding release dates. Other musicians using this name: 1) Polish Trance artist Lukasz Stankiewicz, with releases on Conspiracy Recordings, most notable for the remix of Solar Stone - Eastern Sea. 2) The "punk/rock/surf/ska/rap/reggae/dub" band Underwater 3) The "heavy rock" band The Underwater 4) Electronic, downtempo artist "underwater", featured on One on Twoism Vol. 4
