About Viernes 13
Viernes13 was formed at the end of 2003 by Killer John (Bassist) and Sweet Maite (Vocals), two Bruce Lee fanatics, serial killers, terror movies and series B-science fiction movies, stories of lower class adolescents and superhero comics. The decided to get together and create what would later become their first two demos, Punk ninato and Neverland, both of which were very well received by the specialized music critics. The good reviews they received enabled them to go on a tour through all of Spain, playing with prestigious groups known worldwide like Marky Ramone and Groovie Ghoulies. The key of the group lies in their powerful united interest in fresh pop melodies, influenced by the Ramones, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Teen Idols, Shock Treatment, Depressing Claim, Los Romeos and Aerolíneas Federales. During the summer of 2005, the group consolidated with the addition of Jorge (Extension 333, Wallride, Ownfight, Nocivo), drummer, and Pablo, faithful disciple of Johnny Ramone. With them, Viernes13 gave a turn towards a more potent and compact sound. In January of 2006 Sweet punk (Devil Records), a self produced album, was released to the public. It consists of four songs recorded during the summer of 2005 and is proof of their more melodic ramonian punk pop. In March of 2007, the group signed with Rockaway Studios (Castellón) with Coky (Shock Treatment, Depressing Claim, Los Reactivos) as their producer. The result was the album "Esta noche," which will be released this summer. Likewise, in August of 2006, Viernes13 recorded what will be their first lp with the great producer Mass Giorgini, who is currently working on his production.
