About the studs
the studs were a rock band formed by 大佑 (Daisuke, formerly of 蜉蝣) and aie (formerly of Deadman, a fellow indies band that disbanded in 2007) in 2007 in Japan. yukino (formerly of GULLET) and 響 (Hibiki) also joined on bass and drums, respectively. Also worth noting is that aie, yukino, and Hibiki previously worked together in the band kein, and yukino was also a part of Deadman in 2000. the studs released their debut mini album studs in June 2007 before starting a two-month, one-man tour, spread from warm rain, the day after its release. This tour included a date in Paris, France. After touring throughout the fall, the band announced three releases for the beginning of 2008: their first maxi-single 虹の色, released January 16, their second maxi-single gaze, released February 6, and their debut full-length album and hate, released March 5. They went on another one-man tour throughout May. the studs announced another triple release, this time in three consecutive weeks, in October 2008. They would be going on a one-man tour called creepy crawly in the fall and release the singles クリーピークローリー (Creepy Crawly), あの音 (Ano Oto), and 帳 (Tobari) on October 1, 8, and 15, respectively. "Creepy Crawly" ranked #3 on the Oricon indies chart in the second week of October. They continued touring through the fall until December 3 when they released another single, スパイダーネスト/闇のち雨. This single reached #7 on Oricon two weeks following its release. the studs began their spring tour, Tokyo Stars, which would consist of eight stops across Japan - each show sold out. It was announced March 18, 2009, that Hibiki would be leaving the band on April 10 after the final Tokyo Stars event at Meguro Rockmayan, due to creative differences. The band decided to continue as a trio with support drummer Hiroshi Sasabuchi (formerly of Plastic Tree) and announced the release of their second album, alansmithee. Five days after the release of alansmithee, the studs announced an indefinite hiatus which would begin July 20, 2009. It was August 17 when yukino announced that he would also be leaving the band due to creative differences. aie continued with his solo project, the god and death stars, which toured in spring 2010 and Daisuke formed 大佑と黒の隠者達. aie also plays guitar for highfashionparalyze with Kazuma, formerly of Merry Go Round. On July 15, 2010, Daisuke passed away in his sleep. aie contributed to Daisuke's album and continues to work with the god and death stars and highfashionparalyze. 2) The Studs were an early 80's punk band from Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands. Its members were Erik (vocals), Marcel (guitar), Gary (drums, vocals), Steve (bass). They released their lone 7", Warning High Voltage, in 1981 on Vögelspin.
