Often used to show surprise about the thing that someone has just said.
I think Annieareyouokay has summed it up pretty nicely. The idea that an artist needs an ISBN number, that his/her art needs to be acknowledged to be worthwhile, is quite superficial and ridiculous. I do, however, think that being an artist includes sharing your art with other people. It takes a lot of courage to do that and not everyone is up for the task. I'm not sure if you are an artist if you're not sharing your creativity with other people, no matter how small the number. Art needs an audience.
yo I like you thanks for the compliment
It is time to answer questions for myself. I should be back...
..being alive, or ever having been alive in the past.

NO whoop. yeah, sorry. i told you to do the wrong thing. the crayon icon is to edit your title. what you want to do is click the 'edit' link, which is above the crayon and eyeball icons on your page. that is the one that lets you input text in the section under the title. then, you can get rid of the link address in your title by using the crayon icon and deleting it from the title. that should take care of it.
That didn't work either. The eyeball is just to "keep getting updates on comments." The problem lies in that I started the topic from the "quick chat" access point, which never gave me the options that creating the topic from the red "+Topic" on the top right of the topics above does. A lesson learned and I will now make this topic more topical--as I've already created the new topic in the manner I hoped to in the first place. As always Skogen, I thank you for your taking the time to help and for your suggestions. Even if your information was not completely correct; it forced me into figuring out why it was not working. I think somewhere you posted the proverb: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." You forced me to DIY which is always the best way to learn. Cheers

Oh, well. click on the little 'crayon' icon beside the 'eyeball' icon, it will let you add whatever text or links you would like to at the top of the page, under the heading.
