How about getting rid of the scammers and spammers in the SOAPBOX.
It's obvious you haven't even looked at the situation for ages, they've completely taken over and ruined it.
The weird thing is, there seems to be people still joining the site for the music, and that SOAPBOX does not give a good impression.

The fact that this post is over 11 years old and I don't think a single suggestion has been implemented shows why the site was going to be shut down. I don't think I've noticed a single major update to the site since I've been using it and that was probably a decade ago maybe longer.
Even adding dark mode or making the layout work better on mobile would have been something. You can't just slap a site online and then do almost nothing to it and expect it to succeed.

i want to be able to follow other people
when i come across someone who i'd like to be friends with sometimes i'm too anxious to message a new person but pressing a follow button to send them a little notification telling them "hey this person exists and they think ur cool so they followed you" isn't scary

Please stop the spam, for the love of all that is good, PLEASE STOP THE SPAM. It's much worse now than it was before the 'supposed' shut down.
