well when you first talk with someone music should say something about the persons "sensibilities" but if someone is just a fancy pompous bitch... f them its just plenty of ppl out there... most are yucky but what can you do ... you gotta look till you find the right ppl to hang out with and life is going to make sense a lot more whatever music is trending. the "indie" bunch enjoy seeing themselves as deep though they dont say that out loud. music is music . if it feels good listen to it no matter what.

Which indie culture do you mean?

the indie bands of the 90`s produced some of the best, most influential music. There will always be indie just as there will always be mainstream and every other genre. The elitist attitude is not elitism at all - its born of a sense of belonging to a genre which promotes originality, decent songwriting and attitude. give me indie any day rather than all those artists up their own bodily orifices like kanye, jay z, bouncey etc.

Music has never been only music.

Some of the music is good. I think the style got too big to be maintainable. It'll turn into a Hot Topic thing and if the music stays around then it'll mean something again after it's no longer popular.

I think that a lot of people pretend to like the music because they like the style. But some new trend will start soon and that'll weed out who's true to the music and who isn't.

Indie is such an ambitious term that applies to many musical genres and a business model (or many, that differ from the traditional).
