Beep-beep blip-blip.
yesteryear lol that s awesome
The only thing I'm worried about are the people in public who tend to not give a damn about anyone else. What'll happen when they start watching porn in VR in public -_'
Reminds me of Sword Art Online, and looks similar, tho obviously without the neuro connection, but in the future who knows. what is today, is yesteryear's science fiction.
Will VR be the next big thing? yes eventually it is ganna be. will it be the oculus the one that does it? probably not. my prediction is that its ganna be like the 3D TVs. they are both nice and all but thats just it. what will make or break this is the willingness of third party companies to invest in the production of content for this on a constant basis. cause those fancy cameras arent ganna be cheap. other wise your just ganna get stuck being a kiss cam in espn live games without the actual kissing.
Bring it on
Oculus are not perfecting the VR, if anything they are rushing it and this is why it's a sloppy, buggy, vulnerable piece of crap. I'm happy about that however, because Sony are advancing even more and it's been said that Sony's 'Morpheus' VR is leaps and bounds ahead of the Oculus Rift. So 'yay' Sony. Lol.
So I did some digging, inspired by an idea - and sure enough, I found it. There a new field called "360 degree filming". There is a new type of camera that captures video in every direction, and set crew need to "get behind something"... Of course, Oculus also brings games to a new level of immersion. There is just so much POTENTIAL! On the other hand, we need to keep our feet on the ground here, and remember what is and isn't reality. Its easy to strap into an empirically immersive atmosphere, where even the sense of smell matching the perceived surroundings. It can jostle our bearings if we aren't careful...
I have not personally tried Oculus Rift, but I think based on the current level of interest in immersive entertainment, virtual reality will become "the next big thing". But I also don't think we will lose our ability of free will. Virtual Reality will subtly influence us to make choices that will affect us more on a psychological level then a physical level. We have to be able to differentiate fantasy from reality...
