Whats your favourite rock biography and/or novel and why?
Mine is Luke Haines from Black Box Recorder and The Auteurs 'Post Everything' and Dan Kennedy ' Rock On'. Too bloody laugh out loud funny, surreal, deftly written and quirky. Whats yours?

Exploring beloved rock biographies and novels is a passion of mine. They offer insights into music culture and human stories. Recently, I found a useful resource https://literaturereviewwritingservice.com/testimonials/ which can significantly aid students in their academic journey. Just as rock stories captivate us, this platform can help fellow students navigate literature reviews more effectively. Grateful for the literary inspiration and resources that enrich our learning paths.
And while not a biography or novel, I feel it is an essential part of the history of rock--as well as writing about music...and the scene..and any fucking tangent you could possibly think of.

'Without You - The Tragic Story of Badfinger' by Dan Matovina
Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote "Without You", Harry Nilsson's evergreen international hit which also became a worldwide smash for Mariah Carey in 1994.
Yet Evans and Ham never saw just rewards for their work, nor anything much from Badfinger's rich musical legacy.
Both were emotionally and financially battered when, eight years apart, they hung themselves'.
A truly cautionary tale for those contemplating signing any type of contract relating to management, royalties and publishing.
+1
The Real Frank Zappa Book
by my Lord and Savior himself in his own words recorded to tape, transcribed, then edited by Frank into book form.
I know its TECHNICALLY not a rock biography per say but I'm With The Band by Pamela Des Barres is an amazing read. It's about one woman's life as a groupie for some pretty major bands, she shagged Jim Morisson for fucks sake! If you like the movie Almost Famous, then you'll LOVE this!
The movie about Ian Curtis is called Control. directed by Anton Corbijn. If you love his photos (as I do) you'll love this movie. It's like watching a live action photo book of his stunning images. You don't have to be a big Joy Division fan to appreciate this film, it's awesome.
