I have just downloaded this program, I used some of the previous versions, but with the 11. version it keeps freezing and crashes as soon as i import a video file, which is really frustrating! Does anyone else experience this?
Do you know about any other good video-editing softwares? Would be great to try out something new that actually works ;P

Well, I don't know if you are planning on using the programs legally, but I edit in Avid and Final Cut Pro (though haven't tried FCP X yet) and find them both great tools. Avid is a bit more for experienced users though, and isn't all that straight forward for a new user, but Final Cut shouldn't be too hard to get into and is quite hands on.
I also have the impression that Adobe Premiere is quite decent now (it used to be very unstable when I used it a good many years back, but I've been told that has changed). And Pinnacle studio wasn't bad for a cheaper program when I last used it 5-6 years ago, but I don't know how that is today, any other uses who can comment on this? Only thing I remember from that older version was that occasionally you would have trouble with sound being messed up, so you would have to save often just in case...But like I said, that was with an old version.

I use serif movie plus x5. It seems to work best for the cheap ones and it's really easy. It has the story board or timeline option. Also, if it is freezing, you may need to convert your video format to something that is more compatible with the program. There was one I used that did not work with Mp4 and I had to convert it to WMV. I think it may have been the vegas pro 11 actually.
