Hello. I just thought to start a post for NIN fans in the UK. Feel free to post here and talk a bit about yourself.
*BUMP* Come on NIN fans based in UK, share your introduction to the band and any anecdotes too.
I reckon that it won't be such a long hiatus again. The difference between now and 5 years ago is he doesn't have promoters (especially festival ones) breathing down his back and preventing Trent's creativity to put on the best show he can for fans. With his digital screen technology (which he spent his own money on and always has a construction team for) he's much happier delivering the shows he's always intended to because he's artistic and taking the visuals to whole different level of any other band or performer.
I was luckily enough to see them in 1994 in a tiny venue
I only got to see NIN live twice. That was at O2 Arena in 2009 and again at O2 Arena last May. This year's performance was definitely the better one and Reznor delivered a mind blowing performance, which was incredible from the moment they arrived on stage till the end. It was their first time here since the five year hiatus, as I remember Reznor wanting to stop NIN as a touring band for a while. Hopefully the band will return very soon and not another five years.
I love NIN Trent is amazing. Fell of the grid with all those Ghosts albums but came back good style
Nice one! Even though I was already intro rock, alternative, metal and a bit of industrial it wasn't until I listened to most of their discography back in 2003 did I realise how AMAZING they are. I was familiar with the hits from both Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral. When I got to see them play 2 shows of their legendary 4 nights at Brixton Academy near where my family home is it truly cemented to me that as well as making some of the best music in the past 25 years thanks to Trent Reznor and him being the true musical and artistic genius ( a true original) that he is that they're also one of the best bands you could possibly get ever witness live. There was only one occasion during Sonisphere 2009 that it was an underwhelming performance, but after understanding what happened between him and the Reading festival promoters last time NIN were there (such a shame as their Reading 2007 performance blew away headliners Smashing Pumpkins and the rest of the bill away) I now have a better and greater understanding of his utter dislike for festivals and they way they run things (especially if they're trying to appease Biffy Clyro). I could happily write all day about my love for Trent and NIN but have to get back to this work assignment and gym a bit later. Will add more later.
