this is the best picture i could find to describe the deep sympathy Jeff Tweedy and Jay Farrar shared for another (which eventually led to the band's breakup)
Wendy O. Williams( and The Plasmatics )- charisma personified, intelligent, sassy, fearless, funny, perceptive, challenging, beautiful. Take a bow Wendy O., you were one of a kind, and the real deal.
@TheBrighterDays wrote:Gene Loves Jezebel Discover was their 3rd album and the album the gave them some mainstream success with songs like "Desire" "Heartache" and "The Sweetest Thing". They're petty underrated despite their success in the mid 80's. It's a shame too. That band had so much talent. I actually like the follow-up album better, "The House of Dolls". Geffen made a mistake by releasing "The Motion Of Love" as the 1st single, should have been "Suspicion", "Twenty Killer Hurts" or "Gorgeous" as the premiere cut. All were better choices, plus the deep cuts on the album showcased the great dual guitar work, songs like "Up There", "Every Door", "Message".
I agree that "The House of Dolls" Was better. I think "The Motion of Love" was a good choice only because of how catchy was, but I agree that "Gorgeous" "Suspicion" and "Twenty Killer Hurts" are better songs. "Up There" is by far my favorite on the album.
